I made my first pinch pot in art class when I was 9, and didn’t get my hands in clay again until college. Strong workmanship was encouraged by my ceramics instructor as well as listening to Car Talk while working in the studio. I still listen to The Best of Car Talk while I make functional, no-nonsense pots. My aim is to make durable, everyday ware that feels good in the hand and is

pleasing to use.
